Just this side of heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Toby
Our sweet little Toby received his wings on May 4, 2014. He came to our rescue at the age of 8 and was with us for 5 - 6 years. He was a precious soul who loved nothing more than sleeping in bed with you and getting lots of cuddling and petting! We will miss you little man. Until we meet again!

Stinky Poo
Just some of the comments and memories of Stinky Poo . . . Oh my, Mr. Stinky Poo sure does have a "voice"!!! Whenever we sit to eat, he thinks he needs fed AGAIN! And he now runs from me when he knows it's time for his medicated bath, ear cleaning and cleaning between the toes! I have to convince him he will get food or a treat so he doesn't try to get away! He is well loved and we are trying to show him he will always have a loving home. He loves a nice soft sofa with blankets and loves being held. Stinky is a hoot! He has a "voice" and an opinion on most things :-) He was at our Easter Pics on Saturday and we all loved on him! He smells much better and I think he is on his way to a full recovery :-) He was so funny standing at the door, so proud and greeting everyone coming in. He really liked the yorkie triplets! Stinky left footprints on all of our hearts! It's with tears that I send this out. 2nd Chance has lost a loving, sweet and yes adorable little guy Stinky Poo. His health was ailing recently and he was to see the Dr. last week and then again today which confirmed fluid build up in his abdomen, enlarged liver and his heart was not working correctly. Lynn, Wendy and I took him up today to the vet but had to leave him there so they could take fluids out of his abdomen but also hydrate him. He seemed to be doing better after the procedure the vet said, but then went into cardiac arrest. Please if you would say a prayer for Wendy and Harold. They are devastated from the loss of such a good, loving pup. He had the best days he could of with them and they are feeling a void from not having him around. They were blessed to have found Stinky and he was blessed to have such a loving couple to give him the care he needed and his forever home. No decisions had to be made about Stinky, he made his own decision to go wait for Wendy and Harold at the rainbow bridge. He is no longer in pain but up there playing with Moe, Anastasia and all our other four legged loved ones! Give your 4 legged babies an extra love and hug. I know I have been! His final resting place is beside Moe on the farm together!

Moe
Our man Moe! What an awesome little man he was. Moe came to us in 2011. He never found his forever home but he made friends wherever he went. He loved being with people and really did NOT like being alone. We think that was probably due to the fact that he ended up at the high kill shelter and no one ever came to get him. Moe looked for his owners for months. You could tell he would sit and look towards the south as if to say "when are they coming back?" He finally settled in and just enjoyed whatever attention he was given. He seemed very lonely until the day that Kira came to stay in his foster home and oh did he find his love in little Kira. Kira and he were together for 6 months but then after long discussion because the adopters of Kira didn't want Moe also we finally allowed Kira to be adopted without him. Our mistake :-( Moe didn't do well after that and then he began to have difficulty breathing and we took him to Elizabethtown Animal Hospital where we had xrays and realized that Moes lungs were in bad shape :-( We took Moe home on meds and for the next 3 weeks he was loved like no other! Unfortunately Moe's lungs were just too bad and on January 25, 2012 while in the loving arms of his foster mommy, Moe passed over. Moe, we need to believe now runs and plays in the clouds. Chasing the butterflies.
