Hey there! My name is Barkley (yes, THE Barkley….you might have heard of me) and I am a white and brown spotted terrier mix. Let’s see, what to say…..Well, I’ve been with my new agent (foster mom) for about a week now, and she is REALLY impressed with how well trained I am! I’m not kidding, just look at all these commands I know: sit, shake, lie down, stay, come, leave it, and go potty! I know; that’s awesome, right? I have not had a single accident in the house, and I haven’t even chewed up the shoes that my agent leaves laying out! I’m living with my agent and her 2 cats right now, until I can find a permanent gig. I’ll be honest- at first, I thought the cats were hilarious. I mean, look at those things! However, my agent explained to me that they don’t like to be chased around, and I’m cool with that. Actually, I’ve found out that they are really good snuggle buddies. Who knew? I like to go to all the happening places so I can interact with my adoring fans. Whenever I go to the pet store to get my teeth, ears, and nails done, people tell me how handsome I am. They can’t wait to meet me so they can shake my paw or pet my head. Everywhere I turn its “Barkley! Can I get your picture?” or “Oh my gosh is that BARKLEY??? I’ve been waiting to meet him for so long!” Yeah….I’m kind of a big deal. I don’t let it go to my head though ;) When I’m not entertaining my many fans, you can find me exercising in the yard (gotta stay in shape for the ladies!). I’m great at running and I can maneuver very quickly. I’m very agile. My agent keeps me in tip top shape by playing fetch with me and running in the yard with me. I’ve got a lot of energy, and my agent likes to make sure I use it in a positive way. Well, like I said, I’m looking for a permanent gig. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs.
